Mid year 2021 sales results

The first six months of 2021 have seen us hold three very successful sales, present an exceptional show team, register over 100 calves, implant over 200 embryos, sellclose to 100 head of purebred registered animals, expand our global reach by implanting the first Speckle Park embryos in Brazil, flush over 20 donors and collect six bulls for export.

ROCKIN’ AT ROCKY BULL SALE

  • 27/27 bulls sold, average $13,038

It is always a huge week at Beef Australia and this year was no exception. With 27 bulls on offer plus a full row of show cattle it was all hands on deck. The best thing about Beef this year was getting to talk to breeders about the impact and success Speckle Park is having on their program. The breed is kicking goals for northern Australian breeders and we love that we can support them by holding sales in their area. We’ll be back in 2024 if not before!

2021 ONLINE GENETICS SALE

A Telstra mobile outage that started 4 days before the sale and continued till mid this week created some headaches for holding our annual online Genetics Sale. As anyone that was bidding or watching can tell you it was glitchy and took some time to get rolling. Once we had a stable feed it was all systems go and we were blown away by the support and faith shown in our genetic packages. We wish all the buyers the absolute best with their programs and look forward to watching their success

  • 42/44 embryo packages sold to $5200/embryo, average $2074/embryo

  • 2/2 flushes sold to $11,000, average $9250/flush

  • 16/16 semen packages sold to $2167/straw, average $639/straw.

So what next?

Well, I think both Dale and I could use a day or two in the sun, sipping cocktails but for now we are weaning calves, sorting cattle, fencing, making repairs and keeping the boys busy during the school holidays.

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the Speckle Park Basics Workshop we had set down for 17th July. Another victim of Covid. We will continue with our planning and look forward to bringing you a bigger and better version of the workshop in the not too distant future.

Thanks as always for your ongoing support of us and our program.

Until next time stay safe and well and take a little moment to smile and enjoy yourself.
