OK, take a breath and get ready for a jam packed newsletter :-)August is always a busy month for the WG Team with Ekka and Agquip. This year we've also decided to do a tour of southern and central Queensland just to keep life interesting.The Ekka was incredibly successful for the Speckle Park breed, a full report is below in our good news section.Agquip is on next week from Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th at the Ag-Quip site, 134 Black Jack Road, Gunnedah NSW 2380. As Australia's largest premier Primary Industries field day, Agquip is a fantastic opportunity to see what's available in Agriculture and catch up with mates.Hugo and Liv will be at Site J/33 along with a selection of 2 year old bulls. They are looking forward to promoting our upcoming bull sale and spreading the word about the benefits of Speckle Park. Please call by and say hi. Discounted tickets are available for purchase online HEREStraight after Agquip Dale and I will be taking the bulls back to Qld and starting our southern and central Queensland tour. We are very much looking forward to catching up with existing clients and meeting new breeders interested in Speckle Park. Details of our casual catch ups are below with a link to RSVP. As always if you have any questions or just want a chat please drop us a line or give us a call.CheersDale and Bin#greatcattlegreatpeoplegoodtimesEKKA 2023 RESULTSThe success for Speckle Park in Royal Show carcase competitions continues with Speckle Park claiming the Ken McDonald Memorial Shield (an Interbreed carcase competition for three steers) and Hayden Beattie winning Champion Medium Weight Carcase.This followed on from fantastic results on the hoof with 'Novae Tamagotchi' winning Champion Lightweight Led Steer and 'Spot' winning Reserve Champion Middleweight Steer.Minnamurra claimed the Reserve Champion Carcase in the Trade Class-70 day in the Paddock to Palate competition.Wattle Grove were fortunate to take home Grand Champion Pen of Three steers in the Prime Beef Competition.The Stud cattle judging was held on Friday 11th August with a fantastic showing of high quality stud cattle. Wattle Grove had a team of five senior bulls and we were very pleased to take home Senior Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons.Congratulations to all exhibitors on promoting the breed with high quality cattle and presentation.
