June 2025 Newsletter

t's nice to be back in your inbox again. I hope you are well and the End of the Financial Year and your accountant is treating you with compassion as we all try to find that perfect balance for tax time.

As I write to you we are having a very welcome shower of rain here in Oberon. One forecast suggests there will be snow tomorrow, another suggests just rain. Both confirm it will be *#&king freezing with a top temperature in the single digits. To say I am jealous of the rest of the team that are enjoying the balmy weather setting up for Aggrow Emerald is an understatement.

The last couple of months have been huge with moving cattle from Oberon to our lease block at "Tarwarri", Garoo (near Tamworth). Hugo and Liv have also made the move and will now be full time managing the farm there. We are grateful for their commitment and enthusiasm in taking on the responsibility. We are working on holding an Open Day at some stage later in the year but in the meantime farm tours are available by appointment. Please give Hugo-0498383605 or Liv-0436420004 to arrange a time that suits.

Aggrow starts tomorrow. Tagged as Queensland's best regional field days the event runs for 3 days and includes a multi-breed bull sale, campdraft and invitational horse sale, working dog trials and sale along with over 350 exhibitors. Definitely worth the trip to Emerald. We will have a group of Triple Treat Sale bulls on display and Dale and the team look forward to catching up with clients and anyone keen to make Speckle Park part of their program.

The Triple Treat Sale cattle are coming along nicely and we're looking forward to heading back to Toowoomba Showgrounds on the 26th September for the sale. Catalogues will be out in early September. The sale will be held at 5pm with inspections from 1pm. The legendary Wattle Grove hospitality will be on tap and we welcome you to join us for Great Cattle, Great People, and Good Times.

All the best for the second half of the year. May it bring rain for those that need it and not for those who don't.
Best wishes
Dale and Bin

Congratulations to the Palmgrove Pintpot Campdraft Association for another fantastic event and thank you for allowing us to be a part of the Calcutta, raising funds for the Stonehenge Bushman's Carnival that had their facilities totally wiped out by flooding. The steers used in the Calcutta draft were sired by Wattle Grove bulls.
