April 2025 Newsletter
Can you believe we are mid way through April?! Here in Oberon there is a definite Autumn feel to the mornings and we have had a couple of light frosts already. The season has deteriorated dramatically from the wet summer and now we are praying for rain before we lose any chance of growth and winter hits in earnest. Mother Nature is certainly throwing her weight around this year and we feel for all those affected by the horrific floods or droughts that are hitting both ends of the country.
In happier news it is school holidays and Easter. Last week was spent at Sydney Royal Easter Show watching our kids kick goals in the show ring. Although we didn't take our own cattle this year, we very much enjoyed catching up with mates, being sideline judges and seeing our kids follow their passions. Congratulations to all those that exhibited in the Speckle Park ring, it was a great showing.
Over Easter we'll continue to move cattle to our Garoo lease block (which thankfully is having an amazing season), celebrate Max's 18th birthday, enjoy some family time and hopefully remember to give the Easter Bunny a hand on Sunday morning (apparently you are never too old for an Easter Egg hunt :-)
The Triple Treat Sale cattle are coming along nicely and we're looking forward to heading back to Toowoomba Showgrounds on the 26th September to show them off. Catalogues will be out in early September.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter.
Remember to take some time to do what you love not just what you have to do.
Cheers
Dale and Bin
