Is it just us or is this year moving especially fast! One more day in May and then the quick slide into the end of the financial year. As the one and only Ferris Bueller said,

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t trp and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

April/May have been huge months for the Wattle Grove team with Bathurst Show Success, a 17th and 21st Birthday, Beef Australia 2024 and our Rockin' at Rocky Sale, preg testing recips, weaning purebred and commercial calves, and an engagement (congratulations Hugo and Olivia xx).

Beef Australia was a hugely successful event with fantastic feedback and interest in Speckle Park. The breed is certainly kicking goals for breeders in central and northern QLD providing calving ease, hybrid vigour and MSA grading. Our Rockin' at Rocky Sale had a 87% clearance with an average of $7239 with more cattle sold after the sale to a mixture of new and return clients. We thank all the visitors, supporters, fellow breeders, buyers and underbidders that helped make the week such a huge success. And in case you missed it in the media our bull-Wattle Grove Hall of Fame S723 was pronounced the heaviest bull at Beef 2024. This created quite a media storm and we are very grateful for the exposure it gave to the breed and our program.

Next stop is Farmfest 4-6th June, Kingsthorpe Toowoomba QLD.
